Salon owner Judith Phillips has been in the hairdressing and beauty business for 37 years leaving school at 16 and entering an Apprenticeship in a top salon in Newport Town CentreAge 21 Judith started up the Hairdressing section at Pontypool College where she trained many students over 22 years.In 2000 Judith set up Artisticutz in a tanning salon in Pontnewdd and renting a small space. Business developed quickly and beauty treatments were soon added. In 2002, Judith finished teaching at the college in order to concentrate on the business full time. Unfortunately within weeks Judith was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had to take 6 months off. While undergoing treatment, the business ticked over slowly thanks to part time ex students helping out.Once returning to the salon, business picked up and was soon working to capacity, a larger premises came up in nearby Fairwater Sq and Artisticutz Hair & Beauty has gone from strength to strength.Present DayWe are pleased to announce the relaunch and salon refit bringing us into the 21st century.We always aim to provide a professional service in a bright and friendly environment.We are proud to cater for all ages from toddlers to 90’s and pride ourselves in keeping up to date, with regular training courses and visiting trade shows.
